About your business

What are Google My Business backlinks, and what do they point to?

People use the term for two different things. The first is a link from another website to your business website. The second is a link to your profile address on Google Maps. Both get called Google My Business backlinks, but they are not the same and they do not carry the same evidence.

Links to your website are a long-standing part of how search engines judge a site. Links to a profile address are a newer practice that some practitioners try. We explain which one a plan uses before you agree to it.

How do backlinks to a GMB profile connect to the map pack?

Google says prominence is one of three main local ranking inputs, next to relevance and distance, and that it includes information from across the web such as links, articles and directories. So links belong in the picture. How much they matter in a given city and category is not published.

A link on its own does not turn a thin profile into a strong one. It adds to a base that has to be in place: the right categories, accurate details, real reviews and a site that matches what people search for. See our guide to map pack ranking factors for the wider picture.

What goes into a GMB backlinks plan?

  • A review of your profile, your site and the listings around them, so we know the starting point.
  • Links from pages that fit your category and area, such as local business pages, community pages and relevant articles.
  • Map embeds of your location where a map is useful to a reader.
  • Anchor text that reads naturally and varies, instead of repeating the same keyword.
  • A report on what was placed and where.

We set the mix per city and category. A plan for a roofer in a small town looks different from a plan for a med spa in a large metro.

This is support work, not a ranking switch. Nobody outside Google can prove that a backlink to a Maps or profile address moves a ranking, and we do not claim otherwise. Links are one signal among many, and results depend on your profile, your site, your competitors and your category.

Buying or exchanging links for ranking purposes can go against Google's spam policies on link schemes. Careful, relevant, editorial-style placements reduce that risk but do not remove it. We do not promise positions, traffic or leads.

How do I ask for a plan?

Send your business name, city and main keyword through the request form or on WhatsApp. We reply there with a short review and a written quote. There is no public price list because the work depends on your area. Reviewing your request is free.

Questions about gmb backlink service in United States

Do GMB backlinks improve map pack rankings?
They may help as a supporting signal through prominence, but this is not proven for links to a Maps or profile address. Links to your website have a longer record. Results depend on your profile, site, competition and category, so we cannot predict an outcome.
Should links point to my profile or my website?
Usually the website comes first, since that is where the evidence is stronger and where visitors land. Some plans add links to the profile address as a lower-weight test. We explain the split in the plan so you can decide.
What kind of pages do the links come from?
We aim for pages that fit your topic and area, on sites that are indexed, have real visitors and belong to real businesses or publishers. These are targets rather than promises, and we show real examples of hosts on WhatsApp.
Are map embeds part of this?
Often, yes. An embedded map on a page about your area or service can help readers find you. Whether it moves rankings is unproven, so we use it where it is useful to readers first and treat any ranking effect as a possible extra.
Can agencies order this for client profiles?
Yes. Agencies send each client's business, city and keyword, and we plan every profile separately. A monthly routine across several clients can also be quoted, with the same written quote and the same plain explanation of limits for each client profile.
